To the editor,

We are witnessing the collapse of democracy in the U.S.A., as well as threats to our sovereignty and our economy.

Elections Canada reported that in the 2021 federal election, 62 per cent of eligible voters voted. Looking at the results by age, we see that 46.7 per cent of eligible voters aged 28 to 24 voted. The percentages increased with age and topped out with 74.9 per cent of voters aged 65 to 74 voting.

Let’s show U.S. President Donald Trump, our American neighbours and the world that we care enough about our country and our democracy to vote on April 28. Our voting system isn’t perfect, but it’s all we have to work with at the moment. Vote for the person and the policies that align with your vision of our future. Let’s make voter turnout 100 per cent.
