To the editor,

Re: Discontent City causing chaos, Letters, Aug. 7.

Our last big cruise ship of the season comes to Nanaimo on Sept. 19 with thousands of passengers.

Is the mess at the corner of Esplanade and Front streets (given validation by the name of ‘Discontent City’) really the first and last impressions that we want these visitors to take away with them? Seriously? Is that what our city councillors truly want? I cannot understand their inability to move on reclaiming the land owned the the city.
