LETTER TO THE EDITOR: City should have set aside money toward upgrades for works yard

Letter writer says given the age of the public works buildings, the city should have better anticipated upgrades

To the editor,

Re: City staff reviewing alternative-approval response forms, Nov. 12.

Given that the Nanaimo public works buildings were built 60 years ago and the city tells us they were never intended to still be in use, I can’t understand why the city appears to have been taken by surprise and is apparently unable to appropriately plan and budget for their replacement in a normal budgeting process? They’ve had plenty of time to do so, so why do they have to slide around the issue with an AAP?
