To the editor,

I am 12 years old and I have an idea for the Port Drive property.

What about a small non-floating interactive play pirate ship with water cannons, sails, flags, sunken treasure, pirates in costumes, plastic swords and an anchor to drop?

The Frank Ney statue is already at Maffeo Sutton Park, and the interactive pirate ship could be at Port Drive at the other end of the waterfront walkway.

The Bastion railings and stairs already have a ship theme and if the pirate ship play area was located close to the new Ocean Discovery Centre on Port Drive, then the ship theme can just continue along the walkway where the cruise ship tourists walk.

It would be good if there could be a small music area for maybe 30 viewers because pirates like fiddle and pennywhistle music. The Lions Pavilion is beautiful but it is way too big for small pirate music.

Also, it would be great if there could be an area near the pirate ship for food kiosks and ice cream because little pirates get hungry.

Maybe a business could build it and charge admission or it could be a public place, free for everyone.

I think many children would like this pirate idea.
