Re: Art needs higher profile in city, say residents, Feb. 4.
I want an ant farm and I want loads of city money to build it. Then I want tax money to pay me to operate it, spin studies to say it’s bringing in a lot of loot and even more of your taxes to give it a high profile. Sound far-fetched? Not at all, while we sit back and see the same scenario playing out for the loud arts whiners.
In your paper it seems all I read is the constant drone of a few publicity-seeking artist types wanting public money and now chanting art needs to be made more noticeable within the community.
Enough is enough. Stop the stories from a few elitists and write how the city should cut our taxes – something that affects all of us. Then each of us would perhaps have some spare change left over to fund our own hobbies, whether it’s doing a sculpture, building an ant farm or maybe even having enough money to afford to eat. That would enhance the community even more and make every living soul in the city happy they could do their own thing and not have someone else’s ideas shoved down our throats.
It is time for the uprising and just saying no to the never-ending grunting from those hoarders slurping up our city budget.
