Landlords too strict with rules

As a landlady with two rental suites in my home, I am shocked at how many people will not allow pets or outdoor smoke areas.

To the Editor,

As a landlady with two rental suites in my home, I am shocked at how many people will not allow pets or outdoor smoke areas. Yet they want extremely high rent. Who are these people?

Today pets are considered children to some people and telling them they cannot smoke on the property just because they do not like smoking (how would this hurt anyone or the residence?)

Some of my best renters had really well-behaved, unheard pets, no damages, and smokers have done no harm.

So I believe these people are missing out on some really good, honest, responsible renters  because of their selfish N/P N/S rental listings.

Give people a chance, meet them before judging them, then decide pet or no pet, smoker or no smoker. Then fewer struggling single parents who may smoke or own pets would not have to rent dirty disgusting bed-bugged holes to raise their children in because they were pre-judged by landlords and the rent out of reach.
