In camera ‘nonsense’ betrays public trust

To the Editor,

Re: Legal documents in conflict case stay under wraps, Feb. 12.

Politicians at all levels of government need to realize that they have been put there by the people, for the people and can be recalled by the people.

The administration of public business is open to public scrutiny and this nonsense of doing something ‘in camera’ and thus being denied to the public is something that should only apply to genuine matters of national security, not the business of a backwater town council. Especially when those councillors have said they would be ‘transparent’.
