Humans, dogs are ‘invasive species’ at park

I read recently that humans are the invasive species on this Earth. I saw evidence of that recently when I went into Linley Valley.

To the Editor,

I read recently that humans are the invasive species on this Earth. I saw evidence of that recently when I went into Linley Valley.

Quite a few folks had dogs and many of them were on leash and well behaved. Unfortunately others abuse the privilege and allow their dogs to also become invasive species. Those dogs hassle wildlife, jump on dogless people and leave feces behind. Why are they so privileged?

The other behaviour that is an abuse is depositing garbage at the entrance to that same park. Several garbage bags, plus unbagged household materials, were left at the trail entrance. And who do they expect will pick up after them? Invasive species, indeed.
