Maybe we need to understand that tourists need reasons to come to Vancouver Island and Nanaimo.

We have many parks, both municipal and provincial, we have adequate accommodation and we now have some of the means to get tourists here via ferry and cruise ships.

However, the main way to increase tourism on Vancouver Island is building a link to the mainland.

I’m sure that is a hare-brained idea, too.
