Fair minimum wage isn’t too much to ask

All they really need is a legitimate living wage so they can afford a nice and safe place to live and some extra cash in their wallets.

To the Editor,

Re: Small business depends on minimum wage, Letters, April 7.

Working poor people do not need to buy a new car, though it would be nice; buy a new house, though it would be nice; and go on a vacation, though it would be nice.

All they really need right now is a legitimate living wage so they can afford a nice and safe place to live and perhaps some extra cash in their wallets, just like other people.

Slavery was abolished by U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, but in this particular Canadian case, it’s freedom from slave wages.
