News travels fast. That’s truer than ever, and we at the Nanaimo News Bulletin are making renewed efforts to stay on top of things.

As many of you may have noticed, we launched a completely new website last month. The site looks a lot better, we think, and it’s more user-friendly. All the day’s top stories are where they should be, at the top of the page, and everything else is categorized in a straightforward manner under news, sports, entertainment, community and opinion.

We’ve added visual elements including more photos than ever before, and we’ve also incorporated more multimedia such as video and slideshows.

Now that we have a new digital platform with which to share Nanaimo’s news, we’re energized about making the most of it. Our site will be a source of timely and accurate information about what’s happened in our community, what’s coming up, and what’s taking place right now.

Every article that appears in our print issues on Tuesdays and Thursdays is published online first. That was already the case, but the difference is more pronounced now than before.

We can’t do this all by ourselves; after all, we’re your community newspaper. We rely on readers to keep us in the loop with what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing in the community. Please continue to call, e-mail, contact us via social media or stop by our office to chat. We have a ‘submit tip or photo ’ tab on our website. We love hearing and sharing your opinions, too, on our letters to the editor and Beefs and Bouquets pages. Keep ’em coming.

We understand that our community newspaper is just one of many sources of information on your mobile device. We hope to be current, factual, thorough, trusted, important and well-read. We depend on people in Nanaimo continuing to care about community news here.

So please, pay us a visit at www.nanaimobulletin.com. We’re there, and everywhere else news is happening in our community.
