Disrespectful behaviour never leads to solutions

NANAIMO: Re: Facing the heat, Nov. 8.

To the Editor,

Re: Facing the heat, Nov. 8.

Is there not a disconnect between the message and the method when a group of protesters disrespectfully hurtle insults at someone with whom they disagree, while also calling for the government to respect the environment and our nation?

How can we demand respect in a non-respectful way?

If the current Conservative government wishes to circumvent Canadian laws as a result of enacting the Canada-China Foreign Investment Agreement, the least we can do is to respectfully listen to their arguments, however much we may disagree.

If we wish Canada and the environment to be respected, we must lead by example.
