Re: Plan will shift recycling costs, Nov. 27.
I don’t know how anyone can think the taxpayer/consumer will not be paying the tab for this change in where recycling costs are placed.
Any extra fees that the manufacturers and stores are assessed will be recovered through higher pricing.
Some of the largest contributors of non-recycled waste – the food industry, and especially the fast-food industry – are among the Multi-Material British Columbia group.
They should change how they package their products as a first step.
