Conservation officers aren't conserving much

Whatever happened to darting animals and moving them way out into the wild?

To the Editor,

Re: Conservation officers kill cougar, bear, Sept. 12.

Why do conservation officers call themselves conservation officers? Every-time I read about a bear or a cougar in town, they go out and kill it.

Whatever happened to darting them and moving them way out into the wild?

They never seem to conserve anything. I haven’t read about them doing this in years. Back east or in the States, I always read they dart them and move them elsewhere, but not here.

They should change their name to animal control.
