Colliery Dam Park doesn’t need more visitors

Nanaimo is special and unique because of gems like Colliery Dam Park. It’s bad enough the second mid dam was changed to dog park. It’s not the dogs, it’s their owners that refuse to clean up after their pets. The top end of the second dam reeks. If our local dog owners can’t properly dispose of their dogs’ crap, think, what would tourists leave? I don’t care where you live but I live downstream from the dam. What about the property owners around the park, put in an amphitheatre, cut trees, plow roads, allow vehicles with fryers and pizza ovens in a forested area.

If your family needs another Nanaimo campground – Jinglepot, Cassidy, Brannen Lake, Living Forest, Cedar by the Sea, Nanaimo Lakes, Westwood Lake and more. Better yet, get a couple of million in financing, buy a parcel, open your own park.

Give your head a shake, leave Colliery Dam alone.
