To the Editor,
I fail to understand our city council and mayor.
Water woes by 2020? There are water woes now. We do not own our watershed. We have no written agreement to allow us access to our watershed. Why to both statements?
The Cassidy aquifer is already under threat from an expanded airport runway system, it also feeds the Nanaimo River and many wells in the Cedar area, and we are hearing that Ladysmith is also looking at the Cassidy aquifer for a water supply, therefore the aquifer needs to be left alone before it too runs dry.
We are a Blue Community and water is a human right and absolutely necessary for life for humans and our environment.
