City shouldn't become trash capital

I feel city council should endeavor to stop this by all methods available to them. I am sure there are other investors for Duke Point.

To the Editor,

I feel, No. 1, Vancouver can look after its own garbage, and No. 2, what about the smell to the south end residents? Are we to have to smell the burning of garbage all the time?

There are other ways to invest over there, you don’t have to stoop to those levels just for business opportunities.

Is this just the tip of the iceberg; is it going to escalate into Nanaimo taking in all of Vancouver Island’s garbage as well? Does Nanaimo want the reputation of the garbage capital of B.C.?

I feel city council should endeavor to stop this by all methods available to them, like I said, I am sure there are other investors for Duke Point.
