City council needs modicum of respect

Whatever happened to manners and respect? If they don’t have that, they are not fit to be in those jobs.

Re: Taxpayers shouldn’t foot bill for council’s issues, Letters, Aug. 4

Moving to Nanaimo, it was time to vote for a new mayor and council. So we really tried our best to pick the right people. However, seeing the amount of letters and what has been going on with the mayor and council, we find it very disturbing.

We wanted people with experience, who would work together and improve things. To respect each other, not to be at each other’s throats all the time. Whatever happened to manners and respect? If they don’t have that, they are not fit to be in those jobs.
