Both sides in strike get a failing grade

To the Editor,

Re: VIU students fear for their future, March 24.

It’s difficult to understand how the representatives responsible for this impasse were selected. It cannot be anything to do with their aptitude for negotiation as neither side have demonstrated a modicum of professionalism, not even competent amateurism.

Both sides are abject failures with a resounding F.

An effective negotiator will go to the table mentally formulating the stages of compromise that the inept will only realize after inflicting irreparable harm and inducing a lasting alienation amongst their associates.

I expected more from those appointed to disseminate the power of communication and problem solving within our student body.
