At last, Nanaimo is nuke-free

I’m definitely going to sleep easier knowing that we are not allowing nuclear weapons to enter Nanaimo and we are immune to nuclear attack.

To the Editor,

Re: Nanaimo City council votes to reinstall nuclear-free zone signs, Oct. 3.

I’m definitely going to sleep easier knowing that we are not allowing nuclear weapons to enter Nanaimo and we are immune to nuclear attack.

While Coun. Diane Brennan and her ilk are at it, why don’t they proclaim and post signs that Nanaimo is a crystal meth-free, crack cocaine-free and violence-free city as well. These proclamations/bylaws will make many more feel really good about living in Nanaimo and it’s an excellent make-work project to keep our city employees busy erecting various feel-good signs around the city.

Thank you council for making us all feel safe.
