We are sad to announce the passing of our Yo, who has gone to be with the Lord on August 8th, after a short battle with dementia.
Yolanda immigrated from Holland in 1951 at the age of two with her family and settled in Campbell River, BC; then proceeded to take the nurses program in Victoria where she met Craig, her husband.
They moved to Nanaimo and raised their two children Shannon and Mark.
Yolanda is predeceased by her parents Pluen and Maria Van Reeuwyk, brother-in-law David, and niece Lisa. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years Craig, daughter Shannon, son Mark (Kaylee), her three grandchildren Anneka, Colton, Connor, sister Ria, brother Bram (Carol), and her nieces and nephews.
Thanks to NRGH 5th floor and the Palliative Care unit, especially Vi, for helping our family through such a difficult time. Due to Covid, service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Society.
