Mader, Wolfgang Werner

June 17, 1932 - April 30, 2010

It is with great sadness that I, Yvonne Theresia Mader, must announce that my dear husband, Wolfgang Werner Mader, passed away on April 30, 2010, at the age of 77. He was predeceased by his stepson Craig Llewellyn Davies on June 27, 2008, and his parents Alicia and Arthur Mader, in Germany. Wolf is survived by his older sister Helgard Mader of Wurzburg, Germany.

Mourning his loss are his daughter Gabriele Sabina Mader, of Winnipeg; his stepdaughter Cheryl Tamara Karen Allen, and her two sons Corey and Cale, also of Winnipeg; as well as his stepson Vernon Royce Davies, his wife Marie, and their two sons Kheil and Tor, of Whitehorse, Yukon; Wolf’s sisters-in-law Carollyne and Sylvia and their husbands, their children and grandchildren, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Moreah and Karel Vandevalde, of Surrey, BC.

Wolf’s many friends in the Duncan R.V. Park are also devastated and saddened, as is the Jerry Jack family of Duncan, our partners in the Duncan R.V. Park.

Friends in Germany and Winnipeg, actually from all over the world , are deeply saddened also. Extended family in Germany and The Netherlands are grieving with us.

Gabriele’s mother, Kunigunde, has been a tower of strength to me in this deeply traumatizing time. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Perchinski and the best Cardiac Team in the world in the Royal Jubilee Hospital. The staff in the I.C.U were absolutely wonderful and caring, and a great comfort to me. Wolfgang passed away peacefully and without pain in the early hours of Friday morning, April 30. Even though my heart is broken, I am so grateful that he did not suffer.

Thankfully all the children and family had visited before his passing, knowing that he was seriously ill. A memorial will be held at a later date when the family has an opportunity to gather together again. Last but certainly not least, I also wish to express my deepest gratitude to Bobby Cole, his wife Dorothy, and their daughter Joei for the help, care and compassion they have given me, without them I would not have been able to manage through this most difficult of times. Mr. Pete van Dun has also been a formidable shoulder to lean on, and I thank him for all the help he has given us, and is still giving. Evelyn, thank you for all the things you have done for me to make my grieving easier to bear. Robb, thank you also for all the help you have given to Wolfgang and myself. I am sincerely grateful and blessed to have so many wonderful people around me. Thank you all. In lieu of flowers a donation to the heart and stroke foundation would be greatly appreciated.
