Riley, Wilma Christine
Wilma ‘Billie’ Riley passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 1, 2006, at NRGH at the age of 76 years.
Billie was predeceased by her husband, Ken, in 1999, and her partner, Bill Knight, in 2003. Survived by her sister, Sarah Jones, sons Barry, Glenn, Howard & Robert Riley, daughters Madeline Riley & Judy (Terry) Smith, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and her ‘best kid, Tyler’.
Billie was a member of the Mid Island Weekenders, and a former member of the Royal Purple. Over the years, she enjoyed painting, crafts of all kinds, camping and gardening. Billie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
The family wishes to thank Doctors Love and Forrester, the nursing staff in Palliative Care at NRGH and the Hospice volunteers who all did their best to make Billie comfortable her last few weeks. Also thanks to Dr. Reems and the nursing staff on the 5th floor.
A Memorial Tea will be held on Wednesday, July 12th, 2006, between noon and 3:00 p.m. at 2230 Meredith Road, Nanaimo.
