PALIN, William Franklin (Frank)
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Frank Palin at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, with his family by his side. He was much loved and will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Cynthia; son, Robert (Suzanne); daughter, JoAnne; grandsons, Daniel and Jason; brother, Arnold (Yvette); sister, Elizabeth Burlton (Dennis); sister-in-law, Iris VanWart; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was a warm, gracious, gentle and kind family man with a wonderful sense of humour. He had a great interest in aviation and was employed as a commercial pilot for most of his working life. He was an avid golfer and, in retirement, greatly enjoyed golfing with his friends. After moving from Fredericton, NB to Nanaimo, BC Frank and Cynthia became enthusiastic ballroom dancers and were active members of the Nanaimo Ballroom Dance Society for many years. Frank enjoyed volunteering with the Dance Society as well as many other community and church groups.
A funeral mass will be held at Nanaimo Ecumenical Church on Spartan Road, Nanaimo on Tuesday, October 22nd at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Condolences may be offered at telfordn@shaw.ca
