WILLIAM "BILL" WILSON

Dad passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2007 with his family at his bedside. He was in his 95th year. Dad was born and raised in the Penticton area and came to Vancouver Island in 1933 to work for Comox Logging in Cumberland's Camp 3. He arrived in Ladysmith where he met and married Betty in 1937. Dad continued working on road construction and became a Foreman and worked his way up to Superintendent for the Coastal Region before retiring in 1975. Dad was actively involved with St. John's Masonic Lodge in Ladysmith and was made a life member. He later joined the Nanaimo Shrine Club and was in the Oriental Band for many years. Dad was an active member in the Ladysmith Eagles up until January of this year, when they moved to Nanaimo. Dad is predeceased by his daughter Gerry. He is survived by his wife and best friend Betty of almost 70 years, daughter Janice (Garry) Hudson of Campbell River, son Bruce (Marilyn) Wilson of Nanaimo, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. There will be a private family burial and a remembrance tea to celebrate Dad's life on November 9, 2007 at the Eagles Hall, 1st Avenue in Ladysmith from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
