William "Bill" Randle

July 5, 2018

March 12, 1945 - July 5, 2018
Passed away peacefully at Eden Garden, Nanaimo.

Bill was born in Vancouver and moved to Nanaimo at a young age. From the late sixties to 1996, Bill was the owner of The Book Bazaar on Fitzwilliam Street. He was a collector of military memorabilia and books of all sorts, and he was a fountain of information for anyone who got into a conversation with him. Family remember him as never actually wanting to play Trivial Pursuit after holiday dinners, but he couldn't help himself and always yelled out the answers.

For about 15 years Bill volunteered serving coffee with Mary at Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, where he met his good friend Vicki. Bill had a great sense of humour and loved to joke with the staff and his friends at Eden Garden.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Harold Randle, and he will be missed by his brother Tony, sister-in-law Gwen, nieces Melanie (Tim) and Paula (Chad), and great-nieces Emily and Grace and great-nephews Quinn, Ryder and Cole, as well as special friends Vicki and Roland. The family would like to thank the staff at Eden Garden for their exceptional care of Bill right through to the end. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honour Bill's memory, please do so by sending a donation to Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, 210 Fry Street, Nanaimo, BC V9R 4Z1.
