WILLIAM (BILL) LYCHAK

November 13, 2014

William (Bill) Lychak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Lychak. He was born in Nanaimo, BC on July 11, 1947 and passed away peacefully on November 13, 2014 at the age of 67 in the comfort of his home in Qualicum Beach. He was taken from us too soon after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was predeceased by his father, William, and his mother Johanna. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Anne, and their two sons, Billy (Adriana) and Bobby, his two brothers, Ron and Joe, sister-in-law, Kari (Ed) Wowchuck, brother-in-law, Knut Leine, and nieces and nephews. Bill spent his working life in the forestry industry and as a young man, he spent a short time drilling and blasting, but his true calling was found in falling trees on the West Coast and he did this for 40 plus years. He retired in 2007 and spent a lot of his time in the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and exploring the wilderness on his quad. He taught many others how to embrace and respect the rugged land he so loved.

He was also a talented woodworker and spent many hours in his shop crafting many beautiful pieces. His presence will be greatly missed in our lives everyday. Although gone from our sight, he will forever be in our hearts.
