William (Bill) Linton Watson
August 6, 1924 - December 3, 2015
Bill passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 in Nanaimo BC. He was born in Regina Saskatchewan to parents James and Janet Watson on August 6, 1924. He is preceded in death by his first wife Ethel; his parents; and his siblings John, Moira, Slyvia, Rob and Tom. He is survived by his wife Patricia; his daughter Deb (Jim) Delorme; his son Jeff (Karen) Watson; his grandchildren Krystal (Andrew) James, Meghann Watson, Steven Watson and Michael Watson; great grandchildren Myka, Merry Jane, Sebastian and Zennon James; and his sister Dorothy Wilson.
Bill was an avid boater and beachcomber, and for 15 years spent most weekends at his cabin at Horne Lake with his family and friends. In 1986 Bill retired after 38 years with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He enjoyed a long retirement travelling and spending winters in Arizona. Bill will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him as a loving and devoted father and husband, with a calm, quiet, gentle and thoughtful nature.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Nanaimo Seniors Village for their attentive and compassionate care during the last few years of Bill’s life.
We invite all friends and loved ones to join his family in a celebration of life to be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sands Funeral Chapel reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Parkinson’s Association.
