AEBIG, Wayne Sr.

February 22, 1947 - April 22, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Aebig, Sr. announce that after a courageous battle with cancer he passed away, peacefully, at his home with family by his side.

Wayne was an amazing person; his strength, courage and optimism will always be an inspiration to his family. He was born in Nanaimo on February 22, 1947 and grew up in the Wellington area. His father, Martin Aebig, started the Aebig Painting company in 1947, which Wayne later became a partner of, and eventually took over after his Dad passed. He ran this company with pride and continued working until he no longer could, due to his illness.

Wayne leaves behind, his loving wife, Sharon, and children: Wayne Jr., Shane (Roxanne), Raymond (Val), Lisa, Cory (Ron), Chelaine (Steve), Carmen (Colin), Frank and Richard, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his father, Martin Aebig; mother, Eva Decock; brother, Ray Decock; first wife, Anne; and granddaughter, Ashley.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 3:00pm at Pleasant Valley Hall, 6100 Dumont Road, Nanaimo.

Wayne’s family was his pride and joy and he will be deeply missed.
