Warren died in Langley July 23, 2018, at the age of 72, after several years of declining health. He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Jeanne Scharmer of Mississauga, Ontario.
He leaves behind his sister Linda (Jerry) Chambers of Holland, Michigan, who will miss him deeply, his brother Brian Scharmer of Hamilton, Ontario and nephew, Jason (Heather) Scharmer of Georgia. In addition, he always had a multitude of friends and, for their many acts of kindness, he especially appreciated Don and Gail Ingram, Rowland Tucker, and Dennis and Jean Halvorson.
Warren was a fun-loving, hard-working guy who had a great sense of humor and a soft heart. As he would say, "If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself!"
