W.H. (Herb) Braun passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept.12, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Rita, daughter Barbara Zang (Bob); sons Darrel (Joan), Gary (Dao), David (Sarah), Rodney, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his three sisters, Erna Esau, Ruth Cole and Elsie Banford (Jim).
Herb worked for the CP Police from 1956 to 1990, 19 of those years in Victoria, where he became known by fellow employees as “Herbie Handcuffs.” After retirement and move to Nanaimo, he delivered Meals on Wheels and more recently joined the Speedwatch team.
Memorial service will be at First Baptist Church, 1650 Waddington Road, Nanaimo at 1:30 PM September 25th.
