Victor Barrymore “Barry”
Sept. 18, 1942 ~ June 27, 2011
With deep sadness the family announces the passing of a great husband, father and grandfather. Born in Stonewall, Manitoba Barry moved with his family to the Island in 1970, and was employed by MacMillan Bloedel. Barry was predeceased by his son, Paul (December 2010) and his sister Katherine (1998).
Barry is survived by his wife Jan of 47 years, his son Marc (Sheila), daughter Theresa (John McGee), granddaughters Megan, IIona and Ryann, and his sisters, Geraldine and Donna and their families. Barry was known best for his sense of humour, compassion and huge heart. He was a very special person, who touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed on the golf course and his music buddies will miss his voice and knowledge of the lyrics. The family extends many thanks to Dr. Ed Cancade for his care and compassion.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 11 am at St. Philips Parish Hall, 1797 Cedar Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
