Welsh, Vera
On June 8th, Vera Welsh passed away at the age of 92 years. Born in Wainwright, Alberta in 1917, Vera grew up in small town Alberta and moved to Edmonton in her early twenties. After eighty-two years in Alberta, she moved to Nanaimo (in 2000) and lived for nine years at Berwick on the Lake. Our appreciation to all the wonderful staff there for making those years so enjoyable.
Vera was the beloved mother of Elaine Tkaczuk and Sharon Rise; Grandma to Steven and Matthew Tkaczuk and Auntie to Elizabeth, Catherine and Ron Moir. She was also the much loved Grandma and Great-Grandma to Sharon’s husband Larry’s family.
She was predeceased by husband Allan, of 54 years; sister Edythe, and son-in-law Larry. She will always be remembered for her kind and generous heart and for her wonderfully positive outlook on life. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Highlands Baptist Church, on 55 Street and 112 Avenue in Edmonton on June 29th at 2:00 p.m.
