Valentino passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 88 years of age with his loving wife Lidia of 55 years, by his side. His memories will be etched in the lives of his children Lucia (Graeme) and David.
The legacy of Valentino will live on in the lives of his grandchildren, Natalie, Alexandra, Hayley, Ian, Mackenzie, and Dylan. He will be missed by his sister Maria, brothers Beppo, and Roberto and nieces and nephews in Italy.
Valentino is predeceased by his parents Paolina and Luigi, his sister Nilde, his brothers Luigi and Piero, all from Italy. Val was born in Cicigolis, Pulfero, Italy. He emigrated to Canada in 1959. He worked in construction for a few years, then in 1963 he married his wife Lidia. After a brief time living in Sechelt, he decided that Nanaimo was where he would call home.
Valentino worked at Harmac for more than 25 years before he retired. His passion was gardening and he looked forward to planting his crops every spring. He was always ready to share a laugh with anyone he met. Valentino will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Nanaimo on Friday July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am.
