With heavy hearts we announce Tony’s passing last Wednesday at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Helena; sons, Tony and Dennis Mishko (Lenka); grandchildren, Danny, Savy, and Damian; sisters, Anna (Milan) Rebros and Viera Markova; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Born in Považská Bystrica, Slovakia, Tony immigrated to Toronto in 1968. He spent some years in Yellowknife before settling in Victoria and Lantzville, where he was sought after as a skilled and talented machinist. Tony enjoyed playing his trumpet, making wine, and particularly loved spending winters in Mazatlan, Mexico with Helena.
The family would like to thank family and friends for their care and compassion. Special thanks to the friends in Mazatlan for their support in helping Tony and Helena get home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave., Nanaimo.
