Tilly Clarkson

Feb. 8, 1929 - Nov. 27, 2016

Sadly Mom passed away at home, after a short battle with cancer, with her family by her side.

She was born in Amsterdam Holland. After marrying Hank and having two children, the family immigrated to Canada in 1957. They settled in the Duncan area, where their third child was born. The family moved to Nanaimo in January 1966.

Mom worked for a number of years at a local wholesale company. In 1974 she met her second husband, Robert Clarkson, who she married in 1976. During their short time together they enjoyed travelling and Legion functions. After Bob’s passing in 1980 Mom became more involved in the Legion. There in the mid ‘80s she met Marcus Isbister who she joined on Denman Island. After Marcus’ passing in 2000 she remained there until returning to Nanaimo at Deerwood, in 2005. There she enjoyed cards and socializing with friends. Spending time with her family was very important to Mom, right to the end.

She is survived by her children Wilma Branchi (Vic), Ron van Rossum (Jan), June Bogle (Doug), six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Family interment took place December 3rd in Parksville. An open house to follow in the New Year.

The family thanks all those who helped during this difficult time.
