1926 - 2016
With great sadness we announce the passing of Tom MacDonald in the Palliative Care unit of Nanaimo General Hospital.
Tom was predeceased by parents Agnes (McArthur) and Robert MacDonald, grandson Jason Mayes and sister Lilas Senini. Survived by his wife Thelma (Wig), son Peter, daughter Judy Mayes, sister Betty Davis (Russ), and nieces and nephews.
Tom spent his earliest days in Extension and the rest of his life in Nanaimo. He was a veteran of WW2 and retired as Nanaimo Fire chief in 1981. He was a tireless volunteer wherever help was needed for many organizations - too numerous to mention.
