Bernice was a kind, gentle soul who was born to the late Thelma and John Nelson in Ladysmith, BC. She lived in a few different places in the central island area..a true "Island Girl!"
She passed away peacefully at Elizabeth Manor in Parksville, where she lived the last few years.
Over the last 20 years she was part of the families of Christine Bayfield (Parksville) and Linda Dunn (Nanaimo). She enjoyed day programs in both communities, and made many friends there with staff and peers.
Bernice was also predeceased by her brother Chuck Nelson. Left to mourn her loss are sister-in-law Stella Fraiser and Niece Charlene Nelson.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
