THEA KESSLER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Theodora Maria Franziska Kessler (nee Schulte). Thea passed away peacefully on February 12, 2014 at Woodgrove Manor. Born in Haltern, Germany on July 24, 1922, she immigrated to Canada (Nanaimo) in 1957 where she lived the rest of her life. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Heinz Andreas Kessler; mother-in-law, Johanna Kessler (Canada); mother, Hedwig Schulte; father, Hermann Schulte; father-in-law, Karl Kessler; brothers: Hans, Franz-Joseph (Hildegard), Bernhard; brother-in-law, Walter (Germany). She is survived by her children: Karola (Gary and family), Herbert (Marcia, Travis (Erika), Cody), Ellen (Haven (Marty), Tanya (Shane) (Canada); niece, Hannelore & family (N. America); sister, Karola; sister-in-law, Anneliese, and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins (Germany).

Thea will be remembered for her strong devotion to her faith, fondness of gardening, socializing with her many dear friends, her hard work and loyalty as an employee and co-worker, but most of all for her deep love and unwavering dedication to her family.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all of the staff at Woodgrove Manor.

A funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church at 11:00am on Wed, Feb 19th followed by a reception. Also all are welcome to attend the burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made, in Thea’s name, to a charity of choice.

We are so very blessed to have had you as our Mom & Oma, and we know, undoubtedly, you are now with God. Say “Hi” to everyone for us – we love you and miss you so much already.

Peace be with you.
