TERRY (ELEUTHERIOS)
Beloved Dad and "Papou," passed away on Friday August 28, 2009 in Palliative Care at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his three children, Yiannis Spanakis, Nickolas Spanakis and Eleni Hibberd who tearfully said their goodbyes and expressed love and great appreciation to him for showing them how to live their lives with strength and dignity. A testament to the love between him and his children is the reality that they and their spouses, Miranda (Yiannis), Becky (Nick) and Alex (Eleni) never left his side since he was diagnosed with a brain tumor only one short month ago.
Terry will also be dearly missed by his three grandchildren Kade and Reeve Spanakis and Ayla Hibberd, his companion Sandy Temple, and by a number of loyal family and friends, including his two brothers Mike and George Spanakis (Agathi) and his sister Maria Fragakis (Costas). He was pre-deceased by his loving parents Yiannis and Photini Spanakis.
Please join us at St. Mary’s Church in Ladysmith on Friday September 4, 2009 at 11:00am to say a last goodbye and to celebrate his life. A prayer service will be held at St. Mary’s on Thursday September 3 at 7:00pm for those who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the BC Cancer Society in Terry’s name.
