Oldham, Terrence (Terry)

December 10, 1943 - August 26, 2011

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Terry Oldham after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of almost 40 years, Carol. His sons Lee, Mark, and Mitchell and families will deeply miss their father.

Terry was born and raised in Nottingham, England, starting his career in Heavy Duty Mechanics. In 1977 he made the bold move of immigrating to Canada with Carol and their 3 young lads, to pursue a better life for his family. We are forever indebted to him for that. He continued his trade and spent 11 years in Kamloops. After raising their kids to graduation, Terry and Carol moved to Nanaimo for the last 21 years. Along the way Terry gained many friends. His quick humour was enjoyed by many and being very outgoing, was liked by all who met him.

Terry’s interests included playing English football, golf, walking along the oceanfront with Carol, socializing and having a pint with his many friends. He also enjoyed his weekly game of music trivia with the “Primates.”

We would like to thank the many friends and neighbours for their love and concern through this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Terry’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Terry (Dad) will be loved and cherished forever. His positive impact on his boys will never be forgotten. “You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my love, my father.” Your grateful family.
