Ted Barsby
Born in Nanaimo March 7th, 1920, died peacefully at home September 20th, 2010. He served his country with the R.C.A.F. from, 1940 - 1945. He was a respected Lancaster Bomber Pilot flying 40 missions over Europe, many with Pathfinder (405) Squadron. He had a lifetime of community service. He was the founding president of the B.C. Wildlife Federation as well as the Past President of the Nanaimo Fish & Game Club. He was actively involved in the Conservation movement until his passing.
Predeceased by wife Babe Barsby. Survived by son Ted (Betty-Ann), son Lyle (LeeAnn), grandchildren Ted, Tracy, Brandi, Tanya, Scott & Todd. He had 6 great granddaughters, numerous nieces & nephews, sisters Iris and Phyllis and sister-in-law Elaine.
A Celebration of Ted’s Life will be held at Nanaimo Fish & Game Club, 1325 Nanaimo Lakes Road, Saturday, October 2nd, at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s name, may be made to the Nanaimo Fish & Game Club.
