December 20, 1991 - May 5, 2022
Born in Nanaimo - December 20, 1991 ~ Sunset May 5, 2022.
It is with tremendous sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Taylor, on May 5th, 2022. His ANGELS took him away much too early, as he had so much left to do in life. Tragically, on May 5th, 2022, Taylor succumbed to an unintentional illicit overdose of fentanyl.
His untimely death left us in unmanageably deep grief and sadness. He is survived by his loving mom Lisa Beens, his caring grandpa Kurt Beens and Nancy Lyon (best friend of Kurt). He is predeceased by his grandmother Irmeli Beens in 1998.
Other grieving family members are his grandmother Kathi Lane, his father Jarrod Lane, his half brother Cody Lane, his half sisters Jasa Lane and Halie Lane, niece Amelia, nephew Kingsley and Auntie Megan Lane-Karras, from Victoria, BC.
Also his Uncle Harry Beens and wife Lynda and cousins Benji Beens, Bayden and Ethan. Taylor has extended family in Germany and their thoughts are with us.
Among his circle of caring friends, we make a special mention to Chris Vestby, Darren and the boys, who were like family to him. Many summers were spent as families together at our "Hornby Island" cabin. Playing games, fishing, having fun and goofing around and enjoying Darren's special cooking skills and BBQ's.
Taylor's charismatic personality and caring nature were appreciated by his many friends and employers. Taylor worked primarily in landscaping, warehousing and dry walling. Most recently, he was looking forward to a fresh new start, ready to leave Nanaimo and work remotely with a Highway Paving Crew.
It is comforting to know that Taylor was so well loved. We sincerely appreciate all the stories, photos, memories shared by his countless treasured friends who are left to reflect on the life of a thoughtful, outrageously funny, loyal and one of a kind friend. His candid ability to walk in to a room and light it up will be fiercely missed.
We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support that our community and family and friends have shown us in our time of loss. Thank you so very much for sharing your compassion and kind words, all of the homemade meals & baking, cards and flowers.
For anyone struggling with substance misuse and/or mental health issues, please know that you matter and there is hope and help available. Text or dial 211, a free and confidential service that connects people to local community resources.
Taylor held a special place in his heart with a huge love of animals. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to the Nanaimo SPCA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Beban Park Auditorium, beginning at 1pm.
