March 29, 1942 - July 23, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we have to announce the sudden passing of Suzette (Sue) Louise Weaver (nee Howard) on July 23, 2021 at NRGH at the age of 79.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Ben, her daughter Chris Denslow (Greg) of Nanaimo, and her son Sean Freeland of Burnaby. She was the proud Grandmother to Chase Denslow (Tina), Jordan Denslow (Simone), Kaden and Josie Freeland. Sue was also a great-grandmother, and loved sharing her pictures of Carter and Wyatt Denslow, and Grayson, Whitney, and Alice Denslow. She will also be greatly missed by her cousins, the Thomas/Paron Irish clan from Buffalo New York, and Ben's sons Robert, Chris, Stuart, and extended families. Sue will also be missed by her dear friend and family member Marjorie Denslow.
Sue was born in Vancouver to parents Harold and Dorothy Howard on March 29, 1942. Sadly she was pre-deceased by her sister Valerie.
She worked for many years at the Bank of BC and HSBC in Vancouver and Nanaimo. In 1995, she renewed a friendship with Ben, and they married in 1997, sharing a wonderful life of travelling and gardening on Oakley St. There she took up the art of Stained Glass, and was well known on the Craft Fair circuit.
In April 2020, Ben and Sue moved into Berwick on the Lake Senior's Retirement Community, where they enjoyed meeting new people, and participated in many fun activities. We wish to thank the caring staff there, and her many dear friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue's name at the Nanaimo SPCA. Online condolences may be made at firstmemorialnanaimo.com. A heartfelt thank you to Ron Whyte and the staff at First Memorial Funeral Services.
