Died after a brief battle with leukemia. Born in Sydney, NS, Susen lived in BC since 2001.
She was predeceased by her father Clayton Johnson; stepfather George Donovan; grandparents Clarence Thompson, Mary (Merrie) Thompson, Sam Johnson, Margaret Jane (White) Johnson; and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Susen leaves to mourn her partner of over two years Dylan Knight; mother Marjorie Donovan (NS); brothers Wayne Johnson (Bernadine Chapman) (PE) and Derek Johnson (Shelley Murphy) (NS); nieces and nephews Brett, Reid, Katie, Madeleine; aunt Helen Thompson, aunt Marley Graham, and uncle Norman Thompson (all NS); best friend and ex-husband John Fowler (Martin Cockerill) (BC); John's mother Ruth O'Mara-Mooney (NL); ex-husband Brad Rotto and his daughter Tara Rotto; and Dylan's family Sue Ashton, Paul Knight and Ashlee Hazemkanp (Erin), (BC).
Susen was called to the Bar of BC in 2005 and practiced personal injury law. In her personal life, she was passionate about animal welfare and treated all her pets like family. Susen expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Nanaimo General Hospital, specifically Drs Ontko, Towers, and Cameron, as well as Palliative Care Nurse Penny.
