Stephen Douglas passed away peacefully in Nanaimo NRGH on June 16th, aged 87 years.
A very dear husband of Helen, and much loved father of Gillian. A greatly loved uncle to his nieces and nephews. Former pupil of John Watson's school in Edinburgh, and a graduate of Edinburgh University.
Stephen came to Canada and settled in Nanaimo, where he taught high school English and French for many years, first at NDSS, then LDHS.
Fondly known as "Bubble Man" for his way of teaching English. He also participated in extra curricular activities with school children, such as coaching the NDSS badminton team.
