"Stan The Man" passed away in Palliative Care at NRGH after living with cancer and kidney failure for many years. He is survived by his daughter Jodi, son-in-law Dave, grand-daughters Emily and Alex and his sister Diane Holm (Ken Holm).

Born in Stettler, Alberta to Ben and Anne Sielzle, they moved to Port Alberni in 1951 where he grew up. He had many good years with Sue curling, fishing, camping and driving his fancy cars.

He was a meat cutter for 40 years working at SuperValu, IGA and Thrifty's all over Vancouver Island making many lasting friendships.

He received exceptional care from all staff members at the Renal Unit at NRGH and at Community Dialysis. Thank you isn't enough for the compassionate care you gave him, for making him laugh and the hockey talk.

Thank you to Dr. Mander, all the nurses, doctors, Home Support Staff, and Central Drugs Pharmacy who cared for him so well. Thank you to family and friends that were able to keep in touch with him for visits, phone calls, cards and letters. He really did enjoy those.

There will be no service at his request but think of him when the Canucks score a goal, as he will be cheering too!

He will be missed.
