Perry, Staniz LaDon
November 29, 1926 ~ May 9, 2015
Staniz was born November 29th 1926 in Regina Saskatchewan and passed away at Kiwanis Lodge May 9th, 2015.
Predeceased by her 3 sons, Wade, David and Kim O’Donnell and her husband of 40 years, Lorne Perry, all in the last few years, left her with a heavy heart.
Staniz left Alberta and came to Nanaimo in the 1970’s. She met and married Lorne, living in Lantzville, Victoria and the former Queen Charlotte Island before returning to and building their house in Nanoose.
Staniz worked tirelessly for the Lantzville Legion Br. 257 for many years, serving as President for 7 terms and always out visiting those who were sick or elderly or alone. She received the Legions Meritorious Service Award for her years of service in the year 2000.
Staniz is survived by her granddaughters: Ashley (Terrance) McMahon and Jennifer O’Donnell, who were there for her consistently, her nephew Glen O’Donnell and Lorne’s children: Bill (Deb) and Joan and their families.
She will be missed.
