We are sad to announce the passing of Sonia Campbell, 73, on Feb 8, 2018.
Sonia was born November 7, 1944 in Seaton, Delaval, England. She moved to Nanaimo, British Columbia as a young girl spending her youth in Cassidy, BC.
She had her son Derek Scott Campbell (July 9, 1972) and daughter Krista Lynn Campbell (May 25, 1975) in Nanaimo, BC where she raised her family.
Sonia enjoyed her friends, children and grandchildren. She loved baking and her amazing cooking abilities were renowned among her friends and family. She worked at Harmac and Macmillian Bloedel for over 30 years and for Canfor Forest Products and the School District in New Westminster before settling back in Nanaimo for her retirement.
Sonia is survived by son, Derek and grandaughter Morgan Campbell, daughter Krista and grandchildren Mackenzie and Brady Belyua, and her brother Jim Bateman.
A formal service and reception will be held for Sonia at First Memorial Funeral Services (1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo B.C.) on Saturday February 24, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
