Shirley Rosalie Prokopetz

(nee) Goebel

June 24, 1946 ~ October 18, 2010

Shirley passed away peacefully at 11:25 p.m. on the 18th of October, 2010 with her spouse and sister-in-law by her side. Shirley grew up in Neudorf, Sask., moved to Nanaimo at age 19 and made Nanaimo her permanent home. Shirley worked at the bus terminal, Woolco, and Evergreen Lanes as a short order cook.

Shirley was predeceased by both parents at an early age (Valentine Frederick Goebel & Katherine (Martha) Beiber and her brother, Cliff Goebel. Shirley is survived by her sister, Nell Dixon; sister-in-law Brenda Goebel; her spouse, David Cameron and both families; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, especially Aunt Rose whom she loved dearly and her nephew, Sal Goebel. Shirley loved everyone and everyone loved Shirley.

I would like to thank everyone at Rutherford Heights for their kindness and support; nurses and doctors at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital; Darlene, Sandra, Lorie, Jack, Sal, Amanda and Brenda; special friend in Australia, Colleen, her mother Beth and her very special friend, Glen, on Gabriola Island, and the people I forgot to mention. Thank you, David Cameron. No Service or flowers by Shirleys request.

Love you Shirl. Meet you in Heaven.
